Adrian Scally co-founder of Support Base was previously employed for over 14 years, by The Economist Group, first at the headquarters of The Economist in London , then in Brussels , during the pre-launch of EU affairs newspaper, European Voice where he was latterly, Head of Enterprises. He was responsible for the creation and development of major commercial conferences, seminars and training events on a range of EU policy & regulatory issues including ‘Farm to Fork' (food regulation), ‘Beyond REACH' (chemicals directive), ‘Television without Frontiers' (TVWF), ‘Future Employment Markets in Europe', ‘e-Confidence & the Consumer', and ‘Packaging in the Environment'.

Adrian was responsible for the creation and development of a series of training modules including ‘The future of new Europe ' ‘Lobbying in the EU' and ‘CommEUnicate' and with his team, devised and developed the highly successful annual Brussels based ‘EU Studies Fair'. He was responsible in 2001 for coordination with the European Parliament of the live Presidential debate between candidates for the Presidency of the European Parliament.

His contract publishing activities include ‘The European Commission 2000 – 2005' and ‘A Practical Guide to Sustainable Development,' commissioned by Hill & Knowlton (Brussels).
